Murphys Ice Cream - Some History & Background
|
Sean and Kieran Murphy started Murphys Ice Cream in Dingle, Co. Kerry in 2000, with the goal of making the best ice cream in the world. In the beginning, the kitchen in the Murphys Ice Cream Dessert House on Strand Street served as their laboratory, and growing ranks of customers joined the quest to create the perfect flavours. Over the next two years the business grew, the ice cream became more refined, and customers from outside Kerry became more insistent on having Murphys Ice Cream closer to home.
In 2003, Murphys Ice Cream expanded into a brand new state of the art production facility and began supplying local restaurants and shops. In our Dingle and Killarney shops and for our restaurant customers, we have crafted a huge number of ice creams. We always display 16 flavours in our scooping cabinets. Along with the classics, you'll find some interesting ones for sure! Some of our recent favourites are Pink Champagne Sorbet, Honey Cardamom, Chocolate Whiskey Truffle (with Irish whiskey), Brown Bread and Guinness, Bellini Sorbet, White Chocolate and Rosewater, and Chai Latte.
