Welcome to Dingle Writing Courses

Dingle Writing Courses was established in 1996 by Nicholas McLachlan and Abigail Joffe to provide an opportunity for writers to gather and learn from established authors and from each other in a supportive and stimulating atmosphere that only a residential course can provide.

Since then Dingle Writing Courses has welcomed participants from around the world, many of whom return more than once.

Past courses include poetry, fiction (novel and short story), travel writing, memoir, scriptwriting, writing the landscape and a special course drawing inspiration from the landscape and literature of the Blasket Islands.

We can organise tailor made courses for writers groups, schools or students on a creative writing programme.

Dingle Writing Courses is part of a national network of organisations for writers which includes Poetry Ireland and the Irish Writers' Centre.

Our courses are designed to meet the needs of everyone with an interest in writing whether you are a total beginner or a more experienced writer dedicated to enhancing your understanding of the craft. We make you feel at home so that you can focus completely on your work. There are a limited number of grants available to writers who cannot afford the full fee. See Book Now page
