Our courses take place over a weekend in a purpose-built residential centre at Inch on the Dingle peninsula. They are designed to meet the needs of everyone with an interest in writing, whether you have chosen this moment to begin your first literary effort, or whether you are a dedicated wordsmith seeking to develop and enhance your understanding of the craft.

All our tutors are well known writers, with experience of tutoring at all levels. We aim to make you feel at home while enjoying a stimulating, encouraging and often intense literary experience.

Dingle Writing Courses take place in the Lios Dana Centre in Inch, County Kerry, a purpose-built residential centre overlooking Dingle bay and Inch Strand, a magnificent three-mile stretch of white sandbar.

It has unparalleled views across to the Iveragh peninsula. Inch is three miles from the village of Annascaul and just 15 miles from Dingle where there's a lively traditional music scene. The Kerry Way walking route runs directly in front of the centre. It is just on the edge of the Gaeltacht, the Irish-speaking area that produced in the last century a succession of notable writers in the Irish language.

The centre has a large group room, sitting room, conservatory dining room and kitchen. There is seating throughout the garden for those who like to find a quiet space when the weather is fine. Most of the bedrooms are shared on a twin basis, with a writing desk for each student. A larger bedroom with sea views can accommodate three people. There are four bathrooms. We regret that we are unable to offer single accommodation within the centre, but this can be arranged in a local bed and breakfast if required.

We ask students to make their own breakfast and help each other clear up after meals. All other meals are provided by our resident cook. We have a reputation for excellent food, much of it local and organic, and are happy to cater for any special dietary requirements.

Smoking is restricted to one room adjacent to the conservatory. We regret that the centre is not suitable for wheelchairs but we will do our best to accommodate anyone with a disability. Please contact us for advice.
