Activities for Children

There is plenty for the young ones to do all year round. All activities are detailed on this Activities page. Here is a list of attractions that will appeal to the kids. Many of these activities will involve interaction with other children of the same age. Some activities are located nearby Dingle and are in short driving distance.

Whether born for the stage or shy this diverse five day camp of dance, drama and singing will be enjoyed by all. Acting: Plenty of giggles are in store as children have the oppertunity to become many fun and exciting characters. Improvisation always goes down a treat as children explore new ideas using crazy costumes and happy hats.

Drama games and video making are among the many treats in store as well as preparing for the end of camp show. Singing: Camp goers will sing in groups and solo. They will enjoy singing their favourite chart songs as well as some of the musical classics. Dancing: Children will be hip hopping and dancing down the coolest beats in town! Cost: €80

After nearly thirty years of customer's requests to be allowed see the work in progress or try their hand at throwing a pot, Louis Mulcahy has dedicated an area at the pottery to those visitors who wish to experience the craft for themselves. This Visitor Centre is open 11am – 5pm Easter and Bank Holiday Weekends, and Monday- Friday from 29 th June to 4 th September. A professional thrower can be seen going through the daily routine of throwing pots, and visitors can try their skill at making the simplest shape. It is great fun and absolutely FREE to take away the piece you make. Should you wish to have your piece fired, the charge is €15 and shipping is €10. Each additional piece shipped to the same address is an extra €8 (€5 within Ireland ) Groups welcome by appointment only; booking fee of €4 p.p. applies. A Family Fun attraction which is a must for all visitors to Kerry. What better place to learn to surf than on one of the most beautifull beaches in Kerry? Kingdomwaves Surf School operates at both Inch Beach and Banna Beach, two long sandy 'Blue Flag' beaches surrounded by the Kerry Mountains. Both beaches have a variety of breaks to cater for novice, intermediate and advanced.

Lessons are suitable for all ages and abilities, with qualified instructors and a high emphasis on safety. Over the coming weeks we will have details on 'improver weekends' aimed at helping those who have been surfing for a while but could do with a few tips...

Riding Lessons - Colaiste Ide provides quality Horses and Ponies from the estates own stables. All riders are catered for, from the complete beginners to advanced riders. Lessons are available by the hour and half hour.

Pony Camps - We run Pony Camps for ages 6 and up, during Easter week and also during July and August. Camps are run on a weekly basis from Monday to Friday, between 2.00pm and 5.30pm. Again all levels of experience are catered for. Camps include Riding Lessons, Pony Trekking, Pony Games, Stable Management Classes / Competitions.

Drop-In Service. The large, well equipped facility, located 1.5 miles outside Dingle consists of 3 playrooms, 2 outdoor gardens (one grass / one decking), child size toilets and nappy changing rooms. Teeny Tots is a member of IPPA, is HSE approved and all staff are qualified Nursery / Montessori teachers.

Dingle Sailing Club is based at the Marina in Dingle town and runs sailing courses for children and adults from April to September. Learning to sail can be a fun and rewarding experience for all ages.

The Dingle Sailing Club is a community based club that strives to provide our students with the best possible foundation in sailing basics. We've been working very hard since 1991 developing our courses in order to achieve that goal. We feel confident that you will be satisfied with the level of professionalism of our training, as well as the congenial atmosphere of fun-based learning in which it is presented.

Levels 1, 2 and 3 sailing courses are ISA and Royal Yachting Association approved.

The Dolphin Boat Trips to see the Dingle Dolphin leave regularly from the head of the Pier, inDingle. Dingle Boatmen offer 1 hour boat trips to see Fungiee, The Dingle Dolphin.
