Blasket Islands Eco Marine Tours
![]() Voted one of the three best marine tours in the British Isles by 'Country Homes and Interiors'Blasket Islands Eco Marine Tours, departing from Ventry Harbour (Ceann Trá), 4 miles west of Dingle town, offer you the chance to explore the remote islands of the Blasket Island archipelago and the abundant wildlife (dolphins, whales, basking sharks, seals, puffins and many more) in Dingle Bay. You can choose from three different options. The morning tour, leaving at 10am, takes you from Ceann Trá to the Great Blasket Island, past the island beach and the deserted village, to the grey seal colony and back around Dingle Bay where you have a chance of encountering dolphins, whales and basking sharks. The afternoon tour takes you out past the Great Blasket Island and its grey seal colony and onward to the remoter islands of Tearaght, Inisvickalaun and Inisnabró and their spectacular seabird colonies (puffins, Shearwaters, kittiwakes etc) amidst breathtaking seascapes. The third option is an all-day tour, leaving Ceann Trá at 10am, which allows you to spend a couple of hours on the Great Blasket Island before you join the afternoon eco tour and return to Ceann Trá at around 5pm. The Eco Tour boat, the MV Blasket Princess, skippered by Mick Sheeran, is a 44 passenger Aquastar with a flying bridge for perfect wildlife viewing and is fitted with a marine toilet and inside seating for 20 passengers. ![]() ![]() ![]()
